Minutes of April 1, 2015 approved.
Tea Lane Caterer: The Board discussed its meetings last summer with Tea Lane Caterer owner Dee Smith regarding the need to have Title 5-compliant ware washing capacity for the operation. The Board asked Marina Lent to write a registered letter stating this requirement for the 2015 food establishment permit.
Great Rock Bight Bathing Beach: The Board approved a Tier 3 bathing beach water testing variance request for Great Rock Bight Beach, which is managed by the Land Bank.
Wilmot, Brickyard Road (9-9.25) The Board approved a septic system revision submitted by Reid Silva.
Palms, 16 Valley Lane (3-50) Reid Silva submitted a septic system revision plan for a system originally approved by the Board on 2/7/2001. The leaching bed has already been installed, but other components have not. Additional test holes confirm that the existing leach field location is the best option. The revision includes a new house design and location, septic tank and pump chamber relocation, and an as-built location for the previously-installed leaching field. Then Board approved the revision.
Lasser/Adams, 16 Tilton Road (4-12) Reid Silva presented a septic system construction permit application for a proposed six-bedroom house. The “Presby” system with serial distribution is designed to accommodate the contour of the property. The Board approved the application.
Homeport Restaurant, 512 North Road (27.1-84 & 85) The Board noted that Title 5 operation and maintenance requirements for the “FAST” septic system at the Homeport Restaurant are not up to date, and asked Marina Lent to contact the property managers and work with Reid Silva to address this.
Chilmark Tavern, 9 State Road (30-83) Marina Lent reported that the annual volume of wastewater from the Chilmark Tavern is greater than the amount presented to the Board for the property renovation in 2002. The Board noted that the tight tank system which was approved by the DEP in 1985 suffices to accommodate today’s waste-water generation, and commended the establishment on improved compliance with waste water disposal practices over the past few years.
Lurie, 2 Gosnold’s Way (14-1.2B) The Board reviewed and approved a well permit application presented by Chris Alley.
Shuman, 11 Round Pond Road (35-1.4) Marina Lent noted that the two-year review of the irrigation well at this property required by the Board as a condition of permitting the establishment of a temporary irrigation well on May 15, 2013, is due next month. The Board asked Marina Lent to contact John Clarke to provide the information required, and to report to the Board on when the decommissioning of the irrigation well is to be undertaken.
Rabies exemption The Board approved a rabies vaccination exemption renewal following titer test for Ajax Becker, 5 year old Rat Terrier. Next renewal is due May 23, 2016.
CCC/Library and Chilmark School Q2 bacterial tests Marina Lent reported that the Q2 public water system drinking water samples from the Community Center, Library and School were negative.
Golub, 9 Beetlebung Grove Way (13-9.18) as-built received, C of C issued
Geiger, 8A Clambelly Road (7-64.1) Title 5 Official Inspection -- passes
Septic Hauler Permit 2015: Jay’s Septic.
Temporary Food Event Permit: Chilmark School Lunch @ CCC, 4/3/15; Harvest of the Month Chilmark School taste-testing, 4/9/15.
